STUDY DAY: Ponseti Treatment for CTEV
Dr Ponseti described the club foot deformity as a complex rotation of the foot around the head of the talus. Additional deformities arise due to the abnormal pull of the muscles and tendons. The method of treatment advocated by him is now well accepted and there is evidence that the long term results appear to be better than the results of open joint surgery. Training in the method is an imperative for those who aspire to practice the method. It requires in depth understanding, training and practice and confidence. The course is for any Health Care Professionals who want to update their casting practice using research based techniques.
